The Hotel Indigo/Fairfax Lofts just added to its cache of awards by taking home the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Building Excellence - Renovation Project of the Year Award.

On May 24, 2018, Rau Construction Company of the Kansas City Chapter of the AGC was presented with the award at the biennial awards banquet and honored for their outstanding work on this historic high-rise building renovation.

David E. Hendrikse, AIA, Vice President, Rosemann & Associates, P.C., stated, “Rosemann is proud of its role as Architect-of-Record and Structural Engineer on this complex project as well as having the opportunity to work with such a wonderful project team that included Rau Construction Company, contractor; Gary Brink & Associates, design architect; Brookfield Hotel Investment, LLC, developer; and the many other individuals and companies that were part of this major undertaking.”

The long-abandoned historic Brookfield Building at W. 11th Street and Baltimore Avenue, which previously housed the offices of many transportation firms in the area from 1930 through the 1960s, has been restored to its original appearance. This challenging and exciting renovation created both the Hotel Indigo and Fairfax Lofts in Downtown Kanas City, Missouri housing 118-guest rooms occupying floors one through nine and 27 one- and two-bedroom apartments situated on the top three floors. Impressive amenities include:

  • Dot and Boss Cocktail and Coffee House
  • Business service center
  • Fitness center
  • Board room
  • Meeting spaces
  • Valet parking

This project has been financed with the utilization of numerous tax credit financing sources. Congratulations to Gabe Vogl, David Hendrikse, Scott Rosemann, and the entire Kansas City Rosemann Team!
