St. Louis, Missouri:  We are excited to announce that previously homeless residents have moved into their new, Tiny Homes, this past spring, 2020. The homes, designed by Rosemann & Associates, P.C.., are settled in the North St. Louis area. Each home includes an open concept floor plan with a great room, bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom space.

Congratulations to the Freshman and Sophomore students at both Eureka High School and Rockwood Summit High School in the Rockwood School District for using their determination and newly-acquired construction skills learned through the “Geometry in Construction” program to build these Tiny Homes! Rockwood students did their part during the 2017-2018 school year. It took from September 2018 until March of this year to finish the interiors by students and teachers from De Smet High School and other volunteers that work for North Grand Neighborhood Services.

This tiny house project, financed by non-profit North Grand Neighborhood Services (NGNS), a 501(c)(3,) was a collaboration with Rockwood School District, Social Justice 4 All (SJ4A), also a 501(c)(3), and Rosemann & Associates, P.C., to fill a gap in transitional housing for the homeless.

Rosemann St. Louis’ Studio Director Jarrett Cooper, along with Project Manager Ryan Montana and Project Associate Daniel Tynes, created the design that was selected for use after an all office weekend design charette was held. Further, they helped to negotiate the lot separations on the existing site with the City of St. Louis Planning Department, as well as managed the construction documentation and permitting in coordination with Grimes Consulting, Inc. Engineering & Surveying Services and Horner & Shifrin

Finally, Rosemann coordinated the required structural and architectural support to assist in the lifting and transporting of the tiny homes from the Rockwood Schools to the site in North City.

Construction on a 3rd home is expected to start soon - to volunteer or to assist with funding on this meaningful project, please contact Dianne at Social Justice 4 All at 314-302-0595.
