The long abandoned historic Brookfield Building at W. 11th Street and Baltimore Avenue, which previously housed the offices of many transportation leaders in the area from 1930 through the 1960s, has been restored to its original appearance. The renovation created both the Hotel Indigo and Fairfax Lofts in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
The new hotel and lofts carry out a transportation theme with train murals in the public spaces and travel-related mock post cards adorning the walls of the rooms. Hotel Indigo houses 118-guest rooms occupying floors one through nine. Amenities include the Dot and Boss Cocktail and Coffee House, modern design accents in its guest rooms, business service center, fitness center, valet, board room and meeting spaces.
The Fairfax Lofts are situated on the top three floors of the building with 27 one- and two- bedroom apartments.
As the architect-of-record, Rosemann is pleased that this wonderful project is the recipient of the 2018 Capstone Award - Kansas City Business Journal and the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Building Excellence - Renovation Project of the Year Award.
