Earlier this year, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America reached out to Rosemann’s Vice President Dave Hendrikse seeking assistance to grant the wish of Wish Child Ashiya for a backyard playset at her home in Overland Park, Kansas. Make-a-Wish Foundation had the playset but because of Ashiya’s mobility issues, the playset needed a concrete pad on which to place the playset. Dave was able to utilize his connections in the construction community to find and coordinate volunteers to provide the slab, as well as to provide commercial poured-in-place safety surfacing. Because of the generosity of Eco-Turf Surfacing and Bedrock Concrete for donating their time and the materials to install the poured-in-place safety surfacing and the concrete slab, Ashiya now has a safe place to be outdoors getting the physical activity she needs, while making childhood memories.
This is the fifth wish that Dave has had the opportunity to help to come true. In fact, he is currently looking for construction partners to help with another wish to be completed early this summer. Dave can be reached at dhendrikse@rosemann.com if you would like to help bring joy to a child.
