The Poehler Mercantile Building, a 1904, four-story brick building, once housed a grocery warehouse company at the center of an important industrial district in East Lawrence, Kansas.

Redeveloped today into the Poehler Lofts, the 49-unit mixed-income apartment development is part of the Lawrence Neighborhood Revitalization District. Designed as a leader in the use of solar energy, a 50 kilowatt solar panel installation provides the energy for heating and cooling of common areas.

The Poehler Lofts will generate enough energy to power 4 average American homes and will offset more than 22 tons of carbon annually.

Building restoration includes a new roof structure, exterior wall repairs, and new MEP systems.
