A major milestone in the construction of The Palms at Plantation senior licensed care community took place on Thursday, May 11 with a celebratory Topping Out event.

The mayor, other elected officials, members of the Broward County community, as well as the ownership and development team, gathered at the job site to hear remarks, enjoy a wonderful lunch, and participate in tours of the impressive new development.

The Palms at Plantation brings a distinctive South Florida architectural charm that fits perfectly within the territorial theme in Planation, FL, just minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale. The new development offers a full spectrum of distinctive boutique hotel style living options with 84 assisted living suites and 27 units devoted to memory care along with the best in wellness services, lifestyle amenities, and recreational activities. Project completion is slated for September 2023.

Kansas City, MO: A recent groundbreaking ceremony marked a milestone and many more to come at Amethyst Place, a non-profit organization that provides supportive housing, family empowerment, and therapeutic services for single mothers and children recovering from generational poverty, trauma, and/or substance abuse. Amethyst families, staff, board members, funders, community partners, and members of the project team were in attendance.

Rosemann has partnered with Amethyst Place to implement the design of their expansion goals by transforming 1.28 acres of blighted, vacant land into a new 37-unit development with community area, gated courtyard, green space for outdoor play, fitness center, and additional parking.

“We are honored to serve as design architect and to collaborate with amazing project partners and staff at Amethyst Place. We are all eager to see this facility come to life over the next year,” said Rosemann’s Vice President Dave Hendrikse.

A big welcome to our summer intern Carson Sevart! Carson will work alongside our architectural team in Kansas City. A native of Kansas, he is on track to earn his Master of Architecture degree in 2025 at the University of Kansas. Carson looks forward to sampling the full design process, collaborating with a team of like-minded professionals, and returning to school with real-life experiences.

Carson is skilled in many programs including Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Computer-Aided Design (CAD). He is a member of DIRT Works Studios and worked as an orientation assistant for the past two years welcoming future Jayhawks.

Outside of school, Carson enjoys watching movies and spending time with his family. This August he is getting married and enjoys wedding planning with his fiancé.

Youth in Need Young Professionals Group (YPG) presented their annual Trivia Night and Auction on Friday, May 12^th at the Bridgeton Recreation Center, Bridgeton, MO. Rosemann was pleased to sponsor and participate at this fun-filled evening, which included 10 Rounds of trivia, a silent auction, raffles and more! Although the competition was fierce, Team Rosemann dominated St. Louis sports (thanks you Zachary Braun!), music, and Tribond categories.

The event was a great way to support the YPG’s Board’s goal to advocate for the mission of Youth in Need and fundraising on their behalf. Proceeds from the night benefit the continuation and growth of Youth in Need’s programs such as, early childhood development, street outreach, residential programs, crisis counseling and foster care-serving nearly 10,000 children, youth and families each year.

Rosemann’s architectural team member and Youth in Need board member Drew Jablonski said, “the evening surpassed our fundraising target, raising over $8,000. We are grateful to the sponsors and to more than 150 people and 17 teams for their participation.

Continuing our celebration of national “Preservation Month” we urge you to reflect on historic preservation by recognizing the diverse and unique heritage of our country’s historic places, and their stories, traditions, and legacies.

Today we feature The Bogen, the former majestic Weiss Newman building. Constructed in 1902 for Lesser-Goldman Cotton Company on speculation, the building was soon occupied by Ferguson-McKinney, a dry goods wholesaling firm. Its perfect location at the busy corner of Washington Ave and North Tucker Boulevard in downtown St. Louis became part of the “garment district” for a variety of clothing-related manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and dry goods industries that flourished from the 1890s to the 1930s. Over time, the large property became rundown until the underutilized historic gem was acquired by Jacob Development Group in 2006. Utilizing federal and historic tax credits, an extensive $92 million restoration of the 243,000 square foot structure commenced. Rosemann & Associates was engaged as the architect.

Through considerable pre-planning, unconventional thinking, and particular attention to historic detail, Rosemann set forth to find the balance between preserving the key elements and creating a new personality. The vision was warmly received by the City of St. Louis and downtown neighbors, which resulted in 125 modern urban living loft apartments, 18 configurations, one, two and three-bedroom floorplans, a penthouse, and street level retail. Upon completion in 2007, The Bogen opened its doors to serve and support housing in the downtown corridor. 

Each loft displays granite countertops, exposed brick accent walls, sandblasted wood columns and beams, contemporary vanities with glass countertops, replacement windows that match the original profiles, and a concrete and glass block circular shower. Rosemann carefully revived the existing frame of window arches and restored an ornamental and decorative parapet along the roof line, and a variety of decorative elements such as arch keystones, cartouches, spandrels, and triglyphs to their original integrity. Exterior brick and terracotta were restored to the original colors.

An underground parking garage anchors the building and a rooftop with a bird’s eye view of the city brings a wonderful spot to socialize and relax. Other shared amenities included a terrace room with see-through fireplace, kitchen, and fitness center. Even with these upgrades, the lofts maintained the building’s historic charm with high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and restored wood floors.

The Bogen is perfectly located near dining, shopping, sports and entertainment venues and is in close proximity to several large employers, universities, hospitals, Forest Park, St. Louis Zoo and brings quick access to highways and metro stations. Today, the building remains part of the Washington Avenue Historic District.

“We are honored to have been part of this important preservation venture helping to retain a sense of this building’s history, while reintroducing defining spaces to a new generation of people,” said Rosemann’s Senior Project Manager, Nancy Rodney.

St. Peters, MO: Team Rosemann joined owner/developer Chesterfield, Missouri based commercial real estate company Mia Rose Holdings, LLC, general contractor Midas Construction, subcontractors, and others at the official topping out ceremony of The Station St. Peters Luxury Living. Trade partners signed the final roof truss, which was lifted into place, demonstrating significant progress towards the team’s commitment to providing meticulous craftsmanship, accented by a new level of multifamily housing.

Once complete, the development will present 180 total units across ±297,000 square feet with a perfect combination of attractive high-end finishes and rich interior color schemes, nine-foot ceilings throughout, spacious bedrooms and linen closets, quartz bathroom vanities, fully outfitted kitchens with quarts peninsula and countertops, stainless steel appliances, under cabinet lighting, and subway tile backsplash, as well as top quality flooring, washer and dryer, energy-efficient vinyl windows, and a private patio or balcony with storage.

“Along with the collaborative efforts of the entire project team, we could not be more excited about this significant milestone. The Station St. Peters Luxury Living is set to deliver an attractive high-end design with exceptional amenities making this property a premier living option in the St. Charles County area,” commented Rosemann’s Project Manager Ryan Montana.  

The initial phase of The Station St. Peters Luxury Living is marked to open in May of 2023.
