Greenwood Senior Apartments Opens on Historic School Grounds

Kansas City, MO – Greenwood Senior Apartments is where the past and future meet. Built on the site of the old Greenwood Elementary School—where kids learned and played from 1906 to 1997—this new community gives 6.2 acres a fresh chapter. The school may be gone, but the historic retaining wall still stands tall, keeping the memories alive while welcoming Kansas City seniors to a sustainable, promising future.

The three-story, L-shaped building at 2700 Cleveland Avenue reflects the architectural spirit of the elementary school it replaced. Its façade, facing East 27th Street, features red brick, bump-out paneling, and stone cap parapets, recalling the historic character of the site.
