Gladys and Henry Crown Center for Senior Living offers a vibrant community-focused environment for adults 62 and older. Conveniently located near Interstates 170 and 64/US 40, in University City, MO, Crown Center combines independent living with private accommodations, professional support, and a lively neighborhood. Since its founding in 1967 as ‘The Delcrest,’ Crown Center has been a cornerstone of affordable housing and diverse programming.
In January 2022, construction began transforming Crown Center, replacing the original Tallin Building with a new, state-of-the-art facility. Supported by State and Federal Low-Income Tax Credits and philanthropic contributions, the first phase was completed in August 2024.
This phase introduced Staenberg Commons, a 62,000-square-foot, five-story building housing 52 apartments and serving as the heart of the community. It features a wellness center, culinary kitchen, art studio, outdoor patios, and community gardens.
This transformation was made possible by the expertise and collaboration of co-developers Fulson Housing Group and Council Apartments, Inc.; general contractor Russell; MEP G&W Engineering; structural engineer Rosemann & Associates, P.C.; civil engineer CEDC; and interior designer Spellman Brady Company.
