Fun Fact

I lived in Saigon, Vietnam from 1962 until 1965, when we were evacuated as the war heated up. It was my first time out of the US and my friends were all children of State Department and others who had lived in foreign countries their whole lives. The experience was eye-opening for a young teen and an interesting view into other cultures.

Fun Fact

I was a rower in college. Never did anything like it before then, it was something of a lark that turned into a profound experience that pushed me farther physically and mentally than any other sport. It was way more than just placing an oar in the water. I rowed in 4s and 8s and was always the stroke (the one who faced the coxswain) – I set the tempo for the rest of the boat to follow.

Fun Fact

Growing up with my father, a construction superintendent, I saw blueprints and jobsites at an early age. Through education and travel, this childlike intrigue with the built environment evolved into a passion to utilize design and construction to help provide basic community needs. I became an Architect because I believe that the process of designing and building should be inclusive of all people – everywhere, regardless of economic status.
