Cooper Speaks at MOWHA’s Annual Conference on Affordable Housing Panel

Affordable housing was the main topic of discussion at the Missouri Workforce Housing Association (MOWHA) Conference, June 26-28, 2019, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center, Columbia, Missouri. The 3-day conference provided several networking events, educational breakout sessions, exhibit hall and panel discussions. “It was an excellent platform for attendees to join with housing partners from across Missouri and to focus on advocacy, collaboration and education. We heard from national keynote speakers and their efforts to positively influence affordable housing policy at the local, state and federal levels,” said MOWHA’s Executive Director, Jeff Smith.

The panel discussions, hosted by MOWHA, were composed of top housing experts from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, including Rosemann & Associates’ Vice President and St. Louis Studio Director Jarrett Cooper, who emphasized the threat posed by the lack of affordable housing and offered ideas on how to advance transformative solutions for housing.

Rosemann & Associates, P.C. also hosted a booth at the conference’s exhibit hall, where its representatives connected with over 325 attendees and provided valuable information about Rosemann’s endeavors to sustain affordable housing across the nation.

Rosemann’s Commitment to Nurturing the Architects of Tomorrow

Rosemann’s staff loves sharing knowledge and it is committed to nurturing the architects of tomorrow. On April 24th, Rosemann St. Louis was excited to host Gina Newell, a senior at Parkway South High School, Manchester, MO (pictured above from left to right: Daniel Tynes, Brittany Kampschroeder, Gina Newell, Kent Hoynacki, and Nancy Rodney).

As Gina gears up for college and explores career alternatives, her visit to Rosemann helped her to gain great insight into the field of architecture. The day started with exploring the office space, along with a one on one informational session with each team member discussing his/her role and the essential training that is key to job success.

The process of design and construction, project types, sustainability in architecture, software, including BIM, creating renderings and client and consultant relationships were just a few of the key topics discussed.

“It was a great opportunity for me to learn about the fundamentals of a fast-growing architectural firm,” explained Gina.

Thank you, Gina for visiting Rosemann! We wish you the absolute best as you pursue college next year!

Rosemann Designs New Student Living and Mixed-Use Development in Wilmington, NC

Wilmington, NC – Rosemann & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that construction of Uncommon Wilmington student housing and mixed-use development is underway on South Kerr Avenue in Wilmington, NC.

Located at the corner of Kerr Avenue and Franklin Avenue, Uncommon Wilmington will deliver housing for the University of North Carolina Wilmington and provide one four and one three-story building with 120 student apartment units, more than 5,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space and (30) 2-story townhomes.

Prime amenities expected as part of this student housing design include:

  • Fitness / Yoga Studios
  • Coffee Bar
  • (3) Private study rooms on the upper levels
  • Courtyard pool
  • Outdoor recreation area
  • Clubhouse

Adding to Rosemann’s portfolio of student living and mixed-use development, the architectural and interior design of Uncommon Wilmington will draw on its port-side location for inspiration. Pairing coastal elements like wood and stone, with contemporary landscaping and light, pastel colors, the architecture aims to bring the relaxed, natural vibe from the oceanfront to the University’s college campus.

Uncommon Wilmington will replace a one story, two decades old shopping center with much needed student housing. With other city infrastructure improvements in the works, such as a multi-purpose trail from Kerr Avenue to the shore, this dynamic project promises to support the community of Wilmington’s need for walkable, infill development.

Rosemann & Associates, P.C., Atlanta, is partnering with the development team of owner CA Ventures of Chicago and local general contractor Thomas Construction Group. The design team consists of Krywicki Interior Design, Devita Engineering, and Ironwood Design Group.

Construction is slated to be completed by Summer 2020.

Congratulations to Ben Mahala, Tracie Cabler, Bangseh Akuchu and the entire team at Rosemann’s Atlanta Office!
